Founded in 2018, AutonomoUs celebrates the resilience of humanity through the unique space we've created. We're dedicated to exploring, expressing, and sharing what it means to be human through collaborations.
Our vision is to invoke compassion within society through storytelling and art. We want to help promote and nurture an understanding of humanity and life as something that is flawed - but also beautiful. And in the end, we hope that a willingness to listen and the skill to empathize will be considered as valuable as we at AutonomoUs already believe they are.
A-Z of Emotions is a series that highlights the true complexities behind human emotions. We use the same words over and over again to describe how we feel, however, what we feel often has more depth than "sad" or "happy" can convey. A conversation starter to the broader subject of emotional intelligence, this series is a curated collaboration between 29 artists, each randomly assigned a letter of the alphabet and an emotion that begins with that letter. They are then challenged to create a piece with their own interpretations.
This series was first published on March 20, 2019 as an interactive website. It is currently in the process of transitioning into an interactive digital magazine format.
